House Northshore Drive - Lake Michelle, Noordhoek

This modern, yet comfortable family home was designed around a wind protected courtyard. This was the main ordering principle of the design as the southeaster can make outside living in this part of the world quite challenging.

 

The house is set on the edge of the lake in the beautiful security estate of Lake Michelle, with beautiful views in all directions. These range from the sunrise view over the lake to the east, to the sunset view over Noordhoek beach to the West and beautiful views of Chapmans Peak to the North.

The design had to comply with the estate design guidelines, but at the same time we wanted to give it a distinct modern feel with lots of glass to connect the interior to the beautiful landscape.
