This manor house is located on the Eastern slopes of the Tygerberg and enjoys spectacular views of the Hottentots Holland Mountains, which forms a barrier between the Cape Town metropolitan area and the southern Overberg coast. The house is designed to be the ultimate family home, which also allows to entertain large groups of guests. One of the guest facilities is a detached guest suite, with its own garages, living room, bathroom and kitchenette.
The main house opens up onto a large covered terrace that leads to the pool with automated cover, surrounded by a Balau deck. The pool furthermore features a bridge, seating area and water fountain. All the entertainment areas enjoy panoramic mountain views. The house integrates into the landscape via the sandstone clad base and chimney as well as the timber sun louvers. All rooms have floor to ceiling corner windows to maximally enjoy the environment from the inside out.
The interior design of the manor is characterised by spacious rooms and double volume spaces. The large veneer sliding doors allow the spaces to be used in various configurations to create smaller intimate spaces or large open plan areas for bigger scale entertainment.
The ground floor features the kitchen, formal lounge, formal dining room, family lounge, study, theatre room and large games room. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. The main bedroom furthermore has a his and hers dressing room. A TV snug room with small kitchenette is located on the second floor as well as a ballet studio, gym and steam room.

After 12 years of living in this house, it still feels current. That’s my favourite part! There is nothing that I would change, even after all these years.. It is said you only build a house once in your life, but working with Henk made it such a pleasant experience that I can’t wait to do it again and again (obviously with them by my side!).
