117 on Strand Apartments - Cape Town

117 on Strand, a new mixed use development, takes its name from its location at no. 117 Strand Street, Cape Town, together with the serendipitous fact that it accommodates exactly 117 apartments.
The building accommodates smaller 1 bed duplex apartments lower down in the building, connected to the vibrant Bo-Kaap and De Waterkant streets. In the top part of the tower element, a large, naturally ventilated atrium was carved out of the middle of each floor, which is a unique characteristic of this building. A mix of apartment sizes, ranging from 1 bed and 2 bed simplexes, to 2 and 3 bed duplexes and penthouses are arranged around this atrium. This naturally lit and ventilated atrium, with hanging gardens of real plants and climbers, enables the apartments located on the 12th to 17th floors, to benefit from beautiful natural light and fresh air from two sides, making the apartments feel like garden apartments high up in the sky.
