117 on Strand, a new mixed use development, takes its name from its location at no. 117 Strand Street, Cape Town, together with the serendipitous fact that it accommodates exactly 117 apartments. The building accommodates smaller 1 bed duplex apartments lower down, connected to the vibrant Bo-Kaap and De Waterkant streets. In the top part of the tower, a large, naturally ventilated atrium was carved out of the middle of each floor — a unique characteristic of this building. A mix of apartment sizes are arranged around this atrium, with hanging gardens of real plants and climbers, enabling the apartments on the 12th to 17th floors to benefit from beautiful natural light and fresh air, making them feel like garden apartments high up in the sky.
